Protection and insurance: the first return is not losing

With Allianz group solutions we protect family, income and wealth from the unexpected, illness and accidents, so an unforeseen event never derails the plans of a lifetime.

In short

  • We start from the real need — what would happen to your family if your income stopped — not from a product to sell.
  • The main solutions cover death, permanent disability, long-term care, accidents and health, often combined with each other.
  • The premium is proportionate to the sum insured, age and health: for the same cover, it costs less than most people think.
  • We check the policies you already hold, to avoid duplication and sums insured that no longer match your current situation.

Why does protection come before investing?

Before growing wealth it makes sense to protect what already exists, starting with the ability to earn income. An unexpected event — a disability, a serious illness, the loss of the family's main earner — can undo in an instant goals built over years. The first return of a wealth strategy, even before investment returns, is not losing what has already been built to an event that could have been foreseen.

What covers do we consider, and for whom?

Allianz group solutions cover different scenarios: term life insurance protects dependants if the family's income earner dies; permanent disability and long-term care cover step in when an event reduces the ability to work or to be self-sufficient; accident and health covers respond to more frequent, less severe events that can still weigh on a household budget. Not everyone needs everything: the right combination depends on your family, work and financial situation.

How is the right sum insured worked out?

The sum insured is not a guess: it is calculated. We start from what it should cover — an outstanding mortgage, years of children's education, maintaining the family's standard of living — and arrive at a concrete figure. A sum that is too low leaves exactly the scenario you wanted to avoid uncovered; one that is too high means paying a higher premium than you actually need.

Who it is for

When does protection become a priority?

These are the moments worth asking what would happen if something went wrong.

You are the only earner

If your income stopped, your family should be able to rely on something concrete.

You have a mortgage

A significant debt your family would need to keep paying even in your absence.

You have young children

Their education and financial security should stay protected under every scenario.

You are self-employed

Without the automatic safety nets of employment, illness and accidents weigh more heavily on your income.

What changes in practice

Four elements the cover is built on

5 The areas of cover: death, permanent disability, long-term care, accidents, health
Tailored The sum insured is calculated from your mortgage, children's education and standard of living, not a guess
Proportionate The premium depends on sum insured, age and health: for the same cover, not a fixed cost the same for everyone
At every life change A new child, a new mortgage, a change of job: every milestone can call for a review of your cover
How we work

From need to the right policy, in five steps

  1. 01

    We analyse your needs

What the protection should cover: mortgage, children's education, the family's standard of living.

  2. 02

    We quantify the sum insured

A concrete figure, not a rough estimate, calculated on your real numbers.

  3. 03

    We choose the solution

The combination of Allianz group covers best suited to your specific situation.

  4. 04

    We read the exclusions together

What the policy actually covers and what it doesn't, before signing, not after a claim.

  5. 05

We review at every life change

A new child, a new mortgage, a change of job: we check whether the cover is still adequate.

The mistakes we see most often

Three ways cover is built badly

Insuring things, not people

The house, the car and physical assets are covered, but the family's earning capacity — often the real asset to protect — is left uncovered.

Overlapping cover across policies

It happens often: paying twice for the same risk, taken out at different times with different intermediaries, never compared against each other.

Sums insured stuck twenty years back

A mortgage now paid off, children now graduated, income now doubled: cover should be resized alongside the life of the person who holds it.

Is your current cover still adequate? Our simulator compares the insurance cover on major cards against what Allianz Bank and Nexi offer, to see what you already have and what is missing.

Frequently asked questions

What we are asked most often

It depends on the sum insured, the term, and the age and health of the person insured. A term life policy, for the same sum insured, generally costs much less than people expect: the premium is proportionate to the actual risk, not a fixed cost that is the same for everyone. We quantify the capital you genuinely need before looking at the premium.
It depends on the type of cover and the sum requested: some solutions are activated with a simple health questionnaire, others — especially for larger sums — require more thorough medical checks. We tell you what applies to your specific case before you proceed.
Some types of premium — for example those for death and permanent disability cover — benefit from a tax deduction within the limits set by current legislation. We check together which covers give you a tax benefit in your specific case.
Every policy has specific exclusions set out in the information document, which should be read carefully before signing. Our work starts right there: we check that the chosen cover genuinely answers the need that prompted it, and does not leave the most likely scenarios for your situation uncovered.
Many policies are taken out at one point in life and never reviewed again, even when personal circumstances have changed radically. We check the sums insured, the exclusions and any overlap between different policies, to work out what to keep, what to update and what is no longer needed.
